Among the key institutions is the International Centre for Art and Landscape (CIAP) , located on Vassivière Island in Beaumont-du-Lac. This centre, unique in France, is known for its contemporary architecture designed by Aldo Rossi and Xavier Fabre, its permanent open-air collection, and its program of exhibitions, residencies, and events exploring the links between art and landscape. It is open from Wednesday to Sunday, with varying hours depending on the day.

The Museum of Contemporary Art of Haute-VienneLocated in the Château de Rochechouart, it is a major venue with a collection of over 1,300 works by international artists, including permanent commissions to Giuseppe Penone and Richard Long. It is open from Wednesday to Sunday.

In Limoges, the Frac-Artothèque Nouvelle-Aquitaine , housed in a renovated former printing works at 17 bis Rue Charles Michels, offers free access to over 7,000 contemporary artworks, a 360° immersive experience, a connected façade, and a café-reading area. It is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Other important venues include the Espace Paul Rebeyrolle in Eymoutiers, dedicated to the artist Paul Rebeyrolle, with a permanent collection of more than 80 works and annual exhibitions, as well as the Centre des livres d'artistes in Saint-Yrieix-la-Perche, which houses the third largest French collection of artists' books, with around 6,000 works.

CRAFT LimogesThe research center for the arts of fire and earth plays a central role in promoting contemporary ceramics, hosting artists from around the world for innovative projects. It is located in Limoges, at 142 avenue Émile Labussière.

Finally, the LAVITRINE (lac&s) association, based in Limoges since 2003, is a key player in contemporary art in the Limousin region, offering numerous exhibitions, meetings, and free visits each year. It is located at 4 Rue Raspail.

Today, the abbey houses the Meymac Contemporary Art Centre in a wing parallel to the church, and the Marius-Vazeilles Museum, dedicated to archaeology and local heritage, in the wing adjacent to the church. The site has also been listed as a historical monument since 1983 for the former abbey. The abbey is located in the heart of the Millevaches en Limousin Regional Natural Park .
